pursuing God together on October 7

Here’s a powerful intersection of different people following the Spirit of God and arriving at the same place.

The leaders of Grace Fellowship, in continued pursuit of God during their 3rd year without a senior pastor, have called their church to pray and fast on the 1st Wednesday of each month.

At the same time, Todd Mullins, Pastor of Christ Fellowship, has called all of the churches in Palm Beach County to, you guessed it, a day of prayer and fasting on the 1st Wednesday of each month.

In Todd’s words, “prayer moves the hand that holds the world.”

There are so many ways to fast, but here’s one suggestion:

choose one meal tomorrow,
and use the time and energy you would normally devote to preparing and eating that meal . . .
to pray.

“When you fast, do not look somber as the hypocrites do, for they disfigure their faces to show others they are fasting. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full.  But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, so that it will not be obvious to others that you are fasting, but only to your Father, who is unseen; and your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.”

– Jesus in Matthew 6:16-18
