BIG WEEK FOR COMMUNITY LIFE

Almost $9,000 Raised in Richmond, Virginia!

Our journey of inspiring people to invest in Community Life (so we can inspire Christian organizations to forge missional partnerships that meet their community’s needs and answer Jesus’ prayer for unity) took us to Richmond, Virginia last week.

Our Love featured a classic song from every decade of the 1900s, telling a powerful story about how people can work together to share God’s love with those who need it most. Between ticket sales and donations, almost $9,000 was raised to support Community Life!

Here’s how people who experienced “Our Love” described it:

“everyone walked away in awe and with a smile across their face” ~ “the perfect outlook for a better world in which we live . . . if only everyone would join” ~ “so very special” ~ “wonderful” ~ “unique” ~ “can’t tell you how much we enjoyed the concert” ~ “fabulous” ~ “the commentary (between the songs) was actually one of the best sermons I have heard”

On a personal note, reconnecting with my Richmond musician friends was such a blessing – and at the end of the following video you will see how proud I was of my son Walker as he returned to the stage where his musical career began (at age 4) . . .

Partnerships Beginning Now!

Many of you know we have been contacting so many congregations in recent months, asking them how they are already meeting their community’s needs. We invited a representative from each of those congregations to join us last Saturday for ENVISION. 15 of us discussed needs in our communities ways we could partner together to meet those needs, and 9 of us agreed to try to lead 1 member of our organization to partner with a member of another organization this next month!

We are so grateful to the Greenacres Community Center for donating their space for this beautiful experience! One attendee said she wished she had taken more time to invite people to experience what she experienced! By the way, we are offering an identical event on June 8th, so help us fill the room by using the following graphic to invite at least 1 person!

PRAY JESUS’ PRAYER THIS MORNING!

Jesus’ prayed that everyone who followed him would be one
so that the world would know the Father sent him, and that He loved them.

Let’s join him by praying from 10am-11:30am this morning (Saturday, 5/11)
as representatives from Palm Beach County congregations gather
to discuss needs in their community
and envision partnerships to meet those needs!

Bible Translation and Missional Unity

Last week I asked the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Wycliffe Bible Translators, Curt Henderson:
What is Wycliffe’s greatest challenge?
His response? Unity.
As Wycliffe continues their mission of using Bible translation to lead people to transformation all over the world, Curt recognizes the same thing we are saying in every way we know how here at Community Life:
The key to God’s mission is unity.

Attention Pastors and Leaders,

Please invite one person from your congregation to join us at Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza so Community Life can mobilize the many volunteers we will need to discover how each congregation in Palm Beach County is meeting needs in their community!

(Our previous email invited you to Anthony’s Coal “Fried” Pizza – although that does sound delicious, we’ll let them stick to their Coal FIRED Pizza goodness!)
